Council voted 34 to 3 to stop any hookah smoking at nightclubs and bars after recommendations from the city’s medical officer of health outlined significant risks to the public.

“The message today really is that we’re going to protect your health,” said Councillor Joe Mihevc, who as chair of the board of health pushed for a ban.  “This is a good news day for the City of Toronto.”

No word on if Toronto council cares that those businesses will just move outside the city taking jobs and tax revenue to other towns.
