Saying Goodbye to 606 King St. TorontoNightclub.com April 28, 2016 Latest News It hit me for the first time today that we will be closing a venue that is so close to me and was one of my first projects i ever started when i was 23 years old. A space came up 9 years ago called 606 and I thought it was a dive, run down old club that was a huge risk to turn into a successful night club or venue. For some reason I wanted to challenge myself and take on the task to turn it into one of the City’s best clubs and we busted our ass cleaning out garbage and disco balls with my own hands to turn it into a venue that probably still brings a smile to many faces. I don’t think i can describe CHEVAL in a few words. It was something special with class but hip enough to let the cool kids run free of there everyday problems. We had an amazing 6 years there which is like 20 years in the club world. Before it ran its course, I thought it was time for a change and new look as I got older. I was in search of something new that could offer something to my friends that had grown up past the v necks and models and bottles. That’s when I met my partner chef Steve Gonzalez and we both created a vision for food, drink and party. VALDEZ was our new creation and over the past 3 years it has turned into one of Toronto’s hottest restaurants and bars. Amazing food, Latin culture in downtown toronto with a roof top over looking king street, and a secret bar that i don’t even know the password to get in sometime. Many memories have come from 606 king and I am happy with what I have done. I am happy how much I’ve learned and grown up over the years and I can’t wait to show you guys what I have in store next. Our new project will be everything I’ve wanted and seen around the world and my experience here in the hospitality world. Tonight we kick off the start of the last week of Valdez with the last Thursday party at Escobar. It’s been one of our hottest nights playing a mix of the sexiest deep house and disco house. Join me later for some wobbly pops and good music.
